SPCA Fall 2007 to Spring 2008
In the Harrisonburg Community, Isabella was able to give animals a few hours of companionship by taking them out to play. These animals are found abandoned on the road in critical conditions.
El Club de Lectura en Español Fall 2005 to Spring 2007
Isabella helped Latino students between 4th and 5th grade improve their reading skills in Spanish. The goal was to help them embrace their heritage by encouraging them to speak Spanish during our time together. Many of these children were never taught any Spanish because their parents work full time.
Quotes
“Isabella goes above and beyond what she is designated to do. She pays attention to detail and asks many questions. When we worked the same shifts, she always did things in a timely manner. She is reliable and responsible, reported problems immediately, and fixed them when she could.”
-Jade Hillery, JMU Computing Lab Operations Student Manager
“Isabella is a very attentive student and always participates actively during class. She seeks to comprehend the class well and always explains herself in Italian. Without a doubt, she is one of the best students of the group. In comparison to the other students of the class who are of Italian descent, Isabella has had less contact with other Italians and therefore less of an opportunity to see the culture. Isabella has always demonstrated a large capacity and desire to learn and practice the language. These interests have permitted her to add oral comprehension and production superior to that of the other students.”
-Laura Cambriani, James Madison University Italian Professor
